About the role
- Junior Accountant at Onafriq’s Group Finance team responsible for bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks. Collaborating with various teams to enhance accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Daily bookkeeping for accounts
- Timely preparation, submission, reporting and control of client invoices
- Preparation of bank reconciliations against bank balances on a weekly basis
- Inter-company transactions and reconciliations
- Prepares journal entries and analysis to assist in month-end financial close
- Liaise with suppliers (invoices and statements and payment queries)
- Liaise internally on payment queries and P2P queries
- Staff Travel invoicing and IC Journals
- Fixed Asset Register Reporting
- Assistance with ad-hoc projects as and when needed
- Continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes in line with overall business/group objectives and needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Part qualified, newly qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent, articles) required
- External audit experience would be highly advantageous
- Excellent skills in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- Experience in Banking/Mobile Money Operations would be an advantage
- Experience in process automation
- Experience with Xero and NetSuite software an advantage
- Experience with working with large data volumes
