About the role
- Commercial Counsel supporting Omnissa’s growth across Asia-Pacific Japan. In-house legal support for commercial contracts, HR, and corporate governance matters.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS licensing agreement
- Advising HR and management on employment matters in Japan
- Supporting corporate governance and entity management, including board meetings and local registrations
- Coordinating with external counsel on complex employment and corporate issues
- Partnering with global legal teams to ensure consistency in legal documentation
Requirements
- Qualification to practice law in Japan
- 5–8 years of post-qualification legal experience (including at least 2–3 years in-house or secondment experience)
- Solid understanding of Japanese contract, employment, and corporate laws
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in Japanese and English
- Familiarity with the technology or software industry preferred
