About the role
- Principal Software Engineer designing and developing applications for the Sentinel Program at Northrop Grumman. Collaborates on software standards and resolves user needs through multidisciplinary research.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent
- Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
- Ensures software standards are met
Requirements
- Bachelors in Science with 5 years of experience or Masters in Science with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python
- Experience working Software Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology
