About the role
- Senior Site Reliability Engineer ensuring content accessibility across global edge infrastructure for NordVPN. Designing and troubleshooting systems critical to internet traffic management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure content accessibility across a globally distributed edge infrastructure
- Design and improve load balancing and traffic shaping systems
- Troubleshoot connection, latency, and accessibility issues
- Own HTTP traffic flow from client to edge and origin
- Investigate and resolve website/service reachability issues
- Work across protocol layers for diagnostics
Requirements
- Load balancing and traffic shaping expertise
- NGINX and/or HAProxy configuration and debugging experience
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewall)
- OSI model fluency (L3–L7, TCP internals, SSL/TLS)
- Proficiency in SaltStack and Linux administration
- Python programming skills
- Troubleshooting network/application-layer issues
- Understanding of observability metrics
- Knowledge of Docker lifecycle and networking
