About the role
- Data Reporting Analyst III handling data reporting needs and analytics at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Analyzing, designing, and managing reporting systems for healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes reporting needs, available data, and various methods of data retrieval to develop systems which are responsive to the needs of the department.
- Develops and maintains production reporting capabilities and monitors the timely and accurate production and distribution of standard and ad hoc reports.
- Provides statistical and analytical support to the division for continuing and special needs utilizing various software packages to extract and analyze data.
- Manages ad hoc reporting requests and assigns to staff.
- Manages the design and development of new reporting processes and assigns and trains staff to maintain processing once implemented.
- Serves as technical resource for the division.
- Provides requested reporting for compliance with mandates and DOBI required reporting.
- Supports the broker area with payment reporting or appropriate bonus payment calculations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Requires a minimum of 6 years' experience, preferably in health insurance
- Requires experience with data related applications in the PC environment.
- Prefer strong programming languages with SAS & SQL
- Prefer strong knowledge of SAS and SQL systems
- Prefer 5 years data reporting experience
- Strong PC skills
- Prefer strong database management skills
- Understanding interdependencies among data
- Organizational, Multitasking, Analytical Thinking and strong Interpersonal Skills
