Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the software development life-cycle from conception to deployment
Direct processes using Middlebury's enterprise database systems to evaluate and document activities
Architect solutions using appropriate software architecture design patterns
Lead the deployment and operation of enterprise software applications
Develop Quality Assurance documentation and testing plans
Ensure high availability of services and reduce data breach risks
Model software development best practices and promote knowledge sharing
Monitor and analyze current and emerging trends and technologies
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a relevant technical field, or comparable work experience
10 years of progressive experience with demonstrated success in software development
Extensive knowledge of application technologies, development tools, data-integration techniques and security issues
Demonstrable experience with software architecture design patterns and maintainable code
Thorough understanding of the application stack from protocols to client-side rendering
Proficiency with relational SQL database systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, or SQL Server
Knowledge of application profiling, load and quality-assurance testing
Excellent written and oral communications skills
