About the role
- Senior Accountant managing full-cycle property accounting for MezTal in Guadalajara, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and accurate reporting. Requires strong Excel skills and property accounting experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Record and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and prepayments
- Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Prepare variance analyses for assigned properties in collaboration with property management teams
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and lease agreements
- Partner with property management teams to provide financial insights and resolve accounting-related issues
- Assist with external audits and tax filings by providing schedules and support documentation
- Utilize advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting
- Preferred: Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in **Accounting.**
- Minimum of **5 years** of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in property accounting
- Strong knowledge of **U.S. GAAP **
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal)
- Preferred: Experience in Senior Housing, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare
