About the role

• AI 3D Dataset Engineer developing and maintaining end-to-end 3D data pipelines for a 3D generative AI company. Ensuring high-quality data flow through geometric analysis and quality assessment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and daily maintenance of end-to-end 3D data governance and enhancement pipelines, ensuring the efficient flow of 3D data through geometric analysis, quality assessment, and data synthesis.
• Develop internal data cleaning, annotation, and visualization tools using Python and C++; maintain the 3D asset quality monitoring engine and continuously optimize the automation of data infrastructure.
• Manage data pipelines, actively participate in the integration and scheduling of data cleaning solutions, review external delivery progress, and ensure high-quality data is delivered to the algorithm team on time.
• Participate in the setup of CI/CD processes and be responsible for documenting high-quality technical documentation (RFCs/Specs).

Requirements

• Must have a background in computer graphics or relevant project experience, and be familiar with mesh data structures (GLB/OBJ/USD/FBX); understand the fundamentals of geometric processing (e.g., manifold detection, UV unwrapping, topology, normal vector calculation, etc.)
• Possess strong Python development skills and be proficient in using graphics and data processing libraries
• Familiarity with common data structures and algorithms, with the ability to handle large-scale datasets containing tens of millions of data points
• Strong documentation skills (RFCs/Technical Specs), with the ability to clearly and systematically document development logic and operational workflows.
• Proficient in C++ and CUDA programming, with the ability to contribute to the development and optimization of high-performance data indexing or search engines (such as KNN Graph).
• In-depth experience with generative AI 3D products and a thorough understanding of their underlying principles.
• Experience using big data platforms such as Databricks, or familiarity with common vector databases and vector indexing algorithms.
• Experience coordinating with external annotation teams or managing outsourced projects, with strong project scheduling and communication skills.
• Enthusiast of 3D printing and laser engraving, or experience in independent game development.
