Responsibilities
Design, implement and verify Programmable Logic Controller (PCL) logic and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software to monitor and control substation systems.
Assist with developing and implementing design improvements for product quality, processing time, component lead time, construction design and product support.
Identify and create hardware and software specifications for substation projects.
Prepare and review mechanical and electrical drawings.
Review vendor product submittals and quotes.
Design, implement and troubleshoot communication links and networks between substation devices.
Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) and field/site acceptance tests (SAT).
Create test plans and record results.
Monitor and track progress towards completion milestones and deadlines.
Communicate progress towards the achievement of milestones and deadlines.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Advanced knowledge of network and communication protocols, logic and control platforms, and system programming.
Advanced knowledge of process instrumentation.
Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with employees, customers and suppliers.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products and CAD software.
