About the role
- Accountant for Médecins du Monde managing financial operations and compliance. Collaborating across teams to support humanitarian projects with accuracy in accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Receive invoices and expense reports
- Enter, verify and analyze accounting data in SAP (invoice entry, bank payments, bank reconciliations, electronic document management, etc.)
- Produce internal and statutory accounting reports, and ensure the filing and archiving of electronic documents
- Implement and improve accounting control processes
- Reconcile and analyze accounts; report and investigate discrepancies and potential cases of fraud
- Create and manage third-party accounts (suppliers/customers)
- Process payments for invoices/expense reports, bank transfers and debit notes
- Collaborate with the head office accounting team to identify potential improvements in controls and audit processes
Requirements
- You hold a two-year post-secondary diploma (Bac+2) in Accounting
- You have a solid command of accounting standards
- You have excellent skills in Excel and office tools (Word, Outlook)
- You have good knowledge of SAP
- You are familiar with current accounting rules and regulations
- You can adapt your communication to different audiences and stakeholders
- You are recognized for your analytical thinking and your ability to synthesize information
