Assistant Vice President, Finance for March of Dimes overseeing financial operations and strategic leadership in financial analysis to support organizational objectives. Leading the finance team and ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide oversight of budget, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting processes, including summarizing, concisely presenting, and leading initiatives to improve actual to budget variances.
Conduct profitability analysis across revenue streams and programs.
Develop dashboards, KPIs, and financial models to support strategic decisions.
Provide financial analysis to assist leadership in making strategic decisions and improving business operations.
Direct staff in preparation of financial reports used in the operations of the organization, including monthly management financials, Quarterly Board of Trustee reports, Federal and other jurisdictional registration reports, and ad hoc reports.
Provide and present financial reports to Management, Senior Leadership, and Board timely and accurately.
Attend governing Committee and Board meetings, including Finance Audit & Risk Committee, and Quarterly Board Meetings to support operations and requirements.
Work with Human Resources on Position Control and Workforce Planning as needed.
Cultivate an environment of continuous financial improvement through the creation and management of internal control tools, team member support, and leadership.
Collaborate with department leaders to develop forward-looking business plans.
Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising mission delivery.
Support fundraising and revenue enhancement strategies through financial insights.
Manage and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
Serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of financial goals with organizational objectives.
Requirements
CPA license or MBA, Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
Ten years’ experience in accounting with progressive management.
Proven success in providing excellent customer service, building successful teams, and establishing relationships with key internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complicated financial issues verbally and in writing to all levels within and outside of the organization.
Extensive experience with enterprise financial systems, database query tools, and spreadsheets.
Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating operational finance tools and resources to best meet needs of Organization.
Innovative and forward-thinking mindset with ability to work with autonomy is essential.
