Senior Data Analyst turning complex commercial data into clear business insights for Lyka, Australia's pet wellness company. Collaborating with teams to enhance revenue, ROI, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
Own and evolve key commercial metrics including Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), Gross Margin (GM) and unit economics to support data-informed decision-making across Growth, Commercial and Finance teams.
Deliver proactive insights that identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimisation and improved marketing ROI.
Act as a strategic analytical partner to Finance and Commercial teams, supporting commercial reporting, margin analysis and business planning with clean, reliable data inputs.
Support forecasting and planning cycles with robust, data-driven analysis.
Contribute to investor reporting and board-level commercial metrics.
Develop and embed commercial metrics frameworks (e.g. metrics trees) into team rituals and decision-making processes.
Build, maintain and enhance dashboards and automated reporting with a focus on usability, ensuring stakeholders can self-serve the metrics that matter.
Manage ad-hoc analytical projects across the business, translating ambiguous questions into clear, actionable outputs.
Conduct deep-dive analysis to diagnose complex commercial questions and surface root causes.
Work closely with the Engineering team and Analytics Engineers to manage data capture, transformation and storage for enhanced usability.
Contribute to dbt data modelling efforts, structuring raw data into clean, well-documented models that serve analytics and reporting use cases.
Solve data integrity and validity constraints to provide clean and normalised datasets.
Work closely with key stakeholders across Growth, Commercial and Finance to influence decisions and surface business-critical insights early.
Help define and improve how the Data & Analytics function collaborates with Finance and Commercial teams, including establishing processes, governance and ways of working.
Foster deeper data enablement throughout the Lyka team, building confidence and capability in data-informed decision-making.
Contribute to shared practices and standards across the Data & Analytics function.
Requirements
Experience in or exposure to finance, commercial or unit economics analysis.
Experience in a Data Analyst or similarly analytical, data-intensive role.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply business context to data analysis, particularly around commercial metrics (CAC, LTV, retention, margin, funnel performance).
Strong SQL skills (e.g. window functions, partitioning and CTEs).
Solid grasp of relational databases, data processing and data cleansing techniques.
Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g. Omni, Looker, Sigma, Tableau or similar).
Experience with dbt or similar transformation tooling.
Strong ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, filtering through noise to prioritise what matters.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
