Purchaser / Material Planner managing order processing in SAP and supplier agreements for an international industrial firm. Involved in project management and procurement analysis within a matrix organization.
Responsibilities
Order processing in SAP, taking into account optimal order quantities and total costs, including monitoring delivery dates and resolving performance issues to ensure timely and quality-compliant availability of required production materials
Obtaining and evaluating quotations and conducting technical clarifications with internal departments and/or suppliers
Negotiating quantities, prices and delivery terms and placing orders
Analyzing procurement markets and qualifying new suppliers through structured comparison of conditions and participation in audits
Handling administrative tasks such as master data maintenance, goods receipt postings and invoice verification
Participating in international, cross-functional projects within a matrix organization
Requirements
University degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the role (engineering, business, management, …) preferred; at minimum a completed technical or commercial vocational training with additional purchasing qualification
Proven experience of at least 3 years in Supply Chain Management in an international industrial environment, preferably within a purchasing organization; at least 5 years of professional experience in total
Goal-oriented personality, focused and accustomed to working under pressure
Proactive individual who continuously seeks improvements through product and/or supplier changes
Strong negotiation skills to secure better procurement conditions while maintaining good, professional relationships with suppliers
Flexibility in resolving external and internal conflict situations
Willingness to travel regularly and to work in a genuinely international environment with people from different cultures and nationalities
Solid SAP skills and confident use of MS Office
Business-fluent German and English (negotiation-level)
