About the role
- Transaction Accountant managing financial operations and client interactions in a dynamic hybrid environment. Overseeing accounts, payroll, and financial reporting with a people-first focus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and accurately process all accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Administer client payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll and sales/use tax returns.
- Maintain and update the chart of accounts, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and uphold a systematic electronic filing system to support accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Prepare and issue accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights to management.
- Calculate and report key financial and operational metrics, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and business partners, representing the firm professionally.
- Promote a success-driven, accountable team culture through adherence to internal controls and financial best practices.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, & Outlook
- Proficiency in Advanced QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Bill.com a plus
- Familiarity with other cloud-based software applications (Expensify or Reach Reporting) a plus
- Experience with other general ledger packages a plus
