About the role
- Purchasing Manager overseeing procurement and planning activities for strategic goals at sonnen. Ensuring material availability and collaborating with internal teams for optimal supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- You independently take on planning and purchasing activities to ensure defined delivery times, lead times, inventory levels, and high delivery reliability.
- You review order confirmations and monitor delivery dates.
- You ensure material availability during the introduction of new product generations.
- You monitor inventory levels and optimize them to defined target values.
- You manage end-of-life processes and monitor excess and unusable materials.
- You maintain and update master data in SAP (e.g., purchasing and supplier master data, lead times, Incoterms, prices, etc.).
- You handle claims in close coordination with Service and Quality Management.
- You work closely with Category Managers to achieve quality, lead time, and cost reduction targets.
- You independently implement purchasing projects (e.g., market analyses, requests for proposals) and initiate supplier decisions.
- You work cross-functionally with supply chain teams as well as Production, Quality, Development, and Service.
- You organize and lead supplier meetings and workshops — both internal and external.
Requirements
- Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship or a degree in business administration
- Several years of experience in strategic and direct operational purchasing in a manufacturing company
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- Proficient user of SAP and MS Office is mandatory
- Independent, structured, and responsible working style
- Strong communication skills, high commitment, and ability to work in a team
