About the role
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant providing therapy to patients at Franciscan Health Lafayette Central. Collaborating with healthcare professionals and ensuring quality occupational therapy practices according to state standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides occupational therapy, including selection and use of adaptive equipment.
- Performs comprehensive occupational therapy treatment and related follow-up services including discharge planning.
- Reports patient progress and collaborates with evaluating therapist to implement therapy plan of care.
- Collaborates with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care.
- Documents and submits patient reports and charges within the established timeframe.
- Exercises clinical judgment following an occupational therapy plan of care.
- Provides occupational therapy according to standards of care defined by the state practice act and other professional and governing agencies.
- Trains and educates patients and family members or others and documents understanding of treatment plan and goals.

- Occupational Therapist Assistant License (OTA)- State Licensing Board- Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)- American Heart Association- Required
