About the role
- Staff Accountant at Iru, an AI-powered security platform handling general ledger, accounts payable, and financial reporting duties. Requires strong organizational skills and accounting knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) billing support, including managing collections and billing requests.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports.
- Ensure proper coding, approvals, and adherence to company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain AP aging reports.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with external auditors during audits by providing requested materials.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (mix of GL and AP preferred).
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting practices.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification preferred
