About the role
- Contracting Manager negotiating competitive rates and building trusted relationships with suppliers for Intrepid travel in Japan. Leading the Contracting team and collaborating with Sales & Operations.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in securing the best deals, negotiating competitive rates, and building trusted relationships with local suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Operations teams, gather trip insights and manage contracts and supplier records.
- Ensure accurate information for itinerary creations.
- Lead the Contracting team, provide training to support continuous improvement and clear communication.
- Work closely with the Global Contracting team to implement procurement and pricing practices within the Japan Country Office.
Requirements
- Experience in procurement, contracting, negotiation, and product development.
- Previous work experience in a travel agency/ tourism supplier with great knowledge of Japan trip operations.
- Strong knowledge of local products, suppliers, destinations, and the travel industry.
- Proven experience with travel-related systems and MS Office applications.
- Excellent pricing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English and Japanese
- Passionate about leading and developing a talented team
