About the role
- Systems Administrator III managing on-prem and cloud-based storage for NIH. Monitoring systems health, executing upgrades, and providing IT support to users in a hybrid setup.
Responsibilities
- Support an on prem and cloud-based storage solution for the NIH
- Monitor and maintain systems health
- Execute on upgrade, configuration, and patching requirements
- Serve as a resource for the NIDCD service desk and computer user community
- Provide cloud, server, storage, backup and database systems administration
- Ensure all hardware/software is kept up to date IAW NIH policies
- Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization
- Ensure 99.6% or higher system uptime
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust Clearance
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of IT experience involving customer support
- 4+ years of working experience administering MS Azure instances
- Working knowledge of SCCM and MECM desired
- Experience using and operating Dell/EMC solutions or equivalent technologies
- Experience working with NetApp Storage solutions desired
- Experience using and setting up VMware solutions necessary
- Ability to install, move, cable physical hardware required
- Prior Backup solution experience required
- Prior experience working in a medical or scientific/research-based environment a plus
- Powershell scripting desired (creating and executing scripts)
