About the role
- Electrical Valve Design Engineer developing designs for HVDC and FACTS applications at Hitachi Energy. Collaborating with global teams to enhance electrical design and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop project and tender design documents for HVDC and FACTS applications
- Review customer specifications and Identify risks, deviations and opportunities
- Perform calculations to assess electrical stress, thermal and losses
- Define control and protection requirements for the valve
- Perform semiconductor valve simulations and analyze the results
- Define test requirements in accordance with both internal and external standards
- Perform the failure investigation and ensure the safety in design
- Lead design review meetings, technical forums and customer trainings
- Be a team player and collaborate with other teams
Requirements
- You have either a Bachelor of Science or a Master of Science in Power Engineering, Electricals, Engineering Physics or equivalent
- Previous work experience in similar fields is preferable
- You have good knowledge of engineering tools such as Matlab, PSCAD and Mathcad
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English is required, and Swedish can be advantageous
