Billing Specialist for home and community-based care managing billing cycle across multiple agencies. Involves critical support for reimbursement processes and collaboration with payers in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
Generate and submit claims to insurance companies, government programs, and other payers for services provided to patients.
Utilize agency management software to accomplish billing tasks efficiently.
Record and post payments received from insurance companies, patients and other sources to the appropriate patient accounts in the billing system.
Monitor and follow-up on unpaid claims, rejections/denials, and any outstanding balances to ensure timely collections.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denial to facilitate reimbursement.
Collaborate with payers to address claim disputes.
Understanding the processes and requirements related to exchanging health care information with Home Health Agencies, including compliance with regulations and standards.
Performing regular reconciliation of accounts receivable records with payments received to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborating with other departments and agencies to resolve billing and payment issues and improve processes.
Generating reports on billing and AR performance, including key metrics and KPIs.
Effective communication with team members and management.
Obtain and maintain an understanding of customers’ objectives and goals.
Requirements
High school diploma required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred
A minimum of 3+ years of RCM experience in the homecare industry preferred
Proficient in MS Office and MS Teams
