About the role

• Lead Software Engineer managing a focused team at Heidi, building billing and payments systems for global healthcare impact in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, focused team building Heidi's billing, payments, subscriptions, and entitlements systems; the engine behind how we monetise and scale
• Stay hands-on in the code: ship features, review architecture, and set the technical bar
• Own delivery end-to-end for your team's roadmap, balancing velocity with reliability and operational rigour
• Coach the engineers working with you. Run effective 1:1s on craft and project execution, unblock them, and raise the standard of the work
• Partner with Product, Design, Finance, and Go-to-Market to turn revenue goals into shipped features
• Shape how we run: hiring, onboarding, team rituals, on-call, and engineering practices as the team grows

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with time spent as a tech lead or senior engineer accountable for a team's output
• Strong technical foundation across the stack. Comfortable in Python and TypeScript/React, or eager to pick them up quickly
• Track record of shipping commerce or billing systems in production: subscription plans, seat management, entitlements, pricing changes, or similar
• Clear communicator with strong product mindset who translates business needs into technical priorities and keeps stakeholders aligned
• Comfort with ambiguity. This is a new team in a fast-moving company; you'll help define the playbook
• Motivated by ownership and impact. You want to build something meaningful, not manage process
