About the role

  • Manager NPI Procurement responsible for supply chain strategies and team management at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Collaborating with various departments to enhance performance and efficiencies in procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for execution of commodity / category strategies worldwide.
  • Executes company procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to achieve objectives.
  • Ensures execution of procurement channel and category strategies in delivery of the company internal projects and 3rd party products/services when part of company customer solutions; purchasing and buying.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments, strategic procurement, and company Business Units to maintain inventories at planned levels (where applicable), ensure assurance of supply, maintain service levels, meet business requirements, and mitigate risk.
  • May include inventory management.
  • Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies.
  • Manages activities of exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s.
  • Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy.
  • Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization.
  • Plans, manages, and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff.
  • Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both.
  • Recruits and supports development of direct staff members.
  • Accountable for aligning internal objectives with external realities to maximize efficiencies of technologies, processes and solutions, ensuring that performance meets the overall business needs.
  • Manages a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and lower-level people managers with strategic implications across organizations and/or functions.
  • Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and processes.
  • Ensures the delivery of products and services that meet the performance metrics defined by senior management; supports the design of performance measurement processes.
  • Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope.
  • Creates new operational efficiencies and cost savings within the supply chain on a broad scale, using horizontal strategies and initiatives and influencing internal and external partners.
  • Plans, directs and monitors activities of Staff from a strategic level, ensuring that operations achieve key business metrics.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives that can impact the supply chain globally, typically requiring the leadership of cross-functional and cross-regional teams.

Requirements

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in a supply chain function (or related fields).
  • Typically 2-4 years of people management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement and supply chain business requirements and strategies.
  • Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills catered to a wide variety of audiences; mastery in English and local language.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketplace and industry standards and compliance; utilizes the expertise of others as necessary.
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytics and data modelling skills.
  • Advanced project management and project sponsorship skills.
  • Advanced people management skills, including managing teams across geographies.
  • Advance influencing, consulting and negotiation skills; ability to ensure strategic alignment with multiple parties.
  • Advanced business acumen and understanding of risk mitigation approaches and contract language usage.
  • Strong understanding of the company's policies and processes.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
