About the role
- Purchasing Coordinator responsible for supplier onboarding and purchase orders at G&W Electric. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve positive outcomes in supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for securing (onboarding and setting up) suppliers
- Issue purchase orders for shop supplies and project related work
- Assist with the issuance of production related materials
- Work closely with Buyers and other cross functional teams
- Articulate G&W requirements with supplier base to achieve positive outcome
- Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedites as necessary
- On board new suppliers as needed
- Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category
- Expedite POs to ensure on-time delivery
- Assist buyers with maintaining data; delivery dates, pricing, etc. in ERP system
- Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members
- Maintain departments ISO work instructions
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
Requirements
- Holds an Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required
- Has experience in manufacturing environment
- Performs work under general supervision
- Has good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
- Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Has basic MRP system understanding
- Has good problem-solving skills
- Has the ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
