Senior Fleet Reliability Engineer maintaining >90% fleet uptime for GM’s self-driving vehicle technology. Collaborating with teams on vehicle data collection and issue resolution.
Responsibilities
Support Fleet uptime for prototype vehicle systems and components through issue identification, triage, configuration & code debugging, and root cause analysis.
Work with cross-functional teams to drive hardware and software design changes by balancing short-term improvements and long-term solutions to resolve issues.
Issues are varied, including network configuration issues, AV sensor connectivity issues, fleet management, car connectivity, and AV system software.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional groups, including technicians, operators, engineers, and external partners.
Requirements
5 + years of experience working in automotive, robotics, consumer electronics, or aerospace industries.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Familiarity with C++ and/or Python for scripting and testing, Linux commands for connecting to vehicle systems
Hands-on experience working with and debugging complex hardware and software systems.
Ability to read through vehicle and component schematics, datasheets, and communication architecture.
Experience with Autonomous Vehicle Control, Active Safety, Electrification, etc.
In-depth knowledge of hardware and software interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
Experience with software release tools & programming languages (Jenkins, Artifactory, SPR, Linux, etc.)
Experience with product management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Loop, Etc.)
Familiarity with software integration tools such as Vector, Intrepid, INCA, dSpace
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels within an organization
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage tasks under minimal supervision and provide direction to integration engineers
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to drive and operate test vehicles.
