About the role
- Senior Linux Systemadministrator optimizing and maintaining IT systems for an online games community in Berlin. Collaborating with teams to enhance and support services and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Optimize, expand, monitor, update and maintain our internal IT systems and services, including server and cloud infrastructure
- Plan and implement service setups using Ansible
- Point of contact for provisioning, installation and troubleshooting of server and cloud services as well as other internal services for all teams (mail server, file server, Kubernetes, telephony system, JIRA, Confluence, OTRS, etc.)
- Create scripts (Python, Bash) to optimize, automate and extend services, applications and processes
- Administer desktop operating systems (Linux, Windows and macOS) and software installations via software deployment systems (Jamf, ninjaOne), and provide 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-level helpdesk support for our team members
- Analyze and address security risks (IT security)
Requirements
- Degree in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent vocational training (e.g. Fachinformatiker Systemintegration)
- More than five years of professional experience as a system administrator with Linux operating systems (preferably Red Hat/CentOS/Rocky and Debian/Ubuntu)
- Extensive knowledge in automation and orchestration with configuration management tools (preferably Ansible) and experience with monitoring tools (Checkmk, Nagios/Icinga, ELK Stack, etc.)
- Solid scripting experience with Python and Bash
- Experience operating 24/7 production environments and developing and implementing strategies for highly available internal services
- Fluent German skills and good command of English
