About the role

Responsibilities
- Administration and further development of the existing MS SQL Server environments
- Ensuring smooth operation (backups, recoveries, high availability, monitoring)
- Support and administration of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Analysis, optimization and troubleshooting of SQL queries, stored procedures and database performance
- Planning and executing the migration from MSSQL to PostgreSQL in Google Cloud
- Working on topics such as data architecture, automation, security and compliance
- Close collaboration with development, infrastructure and external service providers
Requirements
- Several years of experience in database administration with MSSQL
- In-depth knowledge of: SQL Server 2014–2022
- Backup/restore strategies
- Always On availability groups
- Performance tuning & query optimization
- SQL Agent jobs, maintenance plans
- SSRS, optionally SSIS/SSAS
- Confident handling of Windows Server & MS SQL management tools
- Good knowledge of database security, roles & permissions management
- Motivation to learn or deepen knowledge of PostgreSQL and cloud databases (GCP)
