About the role

• DevOps Engineer within a technology-focused team improving and maintaining AWS cloud-based solutions. Collaborating in the evolution and performance optimization of Flexion's platform.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, build, and automate the next iteration of the Flexion platform to serve tens of millions of daily requests globally.
• Improve the experience of our product teams by providing streamlined tools, standards, and processes for CI/CD and development environments.
• Build robust, easy-to-use platform solutions and implement performance optimizations for critical service components.
• Take a key role in migrating remaining monolithic functionalities to a modern microservices design and deployment.
• Break down complex systemic changes into small, safe, and incremental functional steps using Agile methodologies.
• Fully own and drive individual projects while maintaining clear communication and engaging in peer feedback sessions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development or Ops/DevOps, ideally within a distributed team environment.
• Strong backend development skills; we use Java and Python for both our core services and our platform automation.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot to provide standardized service setups for other development teams.
• Experience managing virtual cloud infrastructure (AWS), with a deep understanding of Unix/Linux/Bash and .
• Hands-on experience with Docker as a standard unit of deployment and Kubernetes/Helm for automated cluster orchestration.
• Proficiency in SQL (specifically MySQL) to manage and provide data storage services.
• A critical mindset with the ability to navigate complex systems.
