About the role
- FP&A Associate supporting Flagstar’s financial planning and analysis department in banking industry. Engaging with CFOs and production team on financial modeling and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Prepare regular forecast updates liaising between corporate and business forecast process needs
- Analyze financial information to understand key themes that are prevalent in the business
- Collaborate with business and corporate finance team on forward-looking forecasts, business assumptions, and financial report production
- Collaborate to drive change in FP&A function and strengthen current production processes
- Collaborate with business leadership and IT to drive strategic vision and develop budget and monthly forecasts for LOB(s)
- Performs special projects and additional duties as required
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or related
- 5+ Years in FP&A, Capital Markets Finance, or Model Development roles
- Experience using Hyperion
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles
- Extensive experience with planning and budgeting processes
- Strong analytical capabilities and exceptional financial modeling and analysis skills
- Outstanding communications skills, oral and written
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with financial management and reporting systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Workday)
