About the role
- Lead propulsion system development for reusable space orbital vehicles at The Exploration Company. Overseeing engineering teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of engineers and technicians, managing and directing a team of engineers and technicians who work on a variety of engineering projects.
- Leading the hiring process, defining the needs, the job description, conducting the interviews and onboarding newcomers.
- Supporting and challenging the team in their main design choices and development logic.
- Overseeing the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Supporting the business team to find new opportunities.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in propulsion engineering, system engineering, aerospace engineering, or another related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering or spacecraft development roles.
- Strong understanding of cryogenic rocket engines and cryogenic propulsive systems.
- Demonstrated experience in managing requirements, interfaces, and technical budgets.
- Strong leadership and management skills, capable of leading a geographically distributed team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively across departments to achieve seamless system integration.
- Fluency in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
