Responsibilities
Design, develop and optimize electrical systems for projects in pharmaceutical, food processing and industrial environments, including power supply, power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency systems and interfaces with instrumentation and automation.
Prepare detailed technical designs as well as tender documents and technical specifications.
Ensure interdisciplinary coordination with process, mechanical, automation, instrumentation, architectural and structural teams to achieve optimal integration of electrical systems.
Conduct site surveys, visual inspections and field visits required for design, validation of technical solutions and construction follow-up.
Actively participate in risk analyses and technical reviews and provide recommendations appropriate for regulated environments.
Apply and demonstrate strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations as well as requirements specific to the pharmaceutical and food processing sectors.
Prepare, review and approve technical and regulatory documentation.
Contribute to the preparation of budget estimates, evaluation of construction costs and bid analysis.
Oversee construction monitoring, follow up on work execution, ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, manage changes and ensure schedules, budgets and quality standards are met.
Work closely with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery and high levels of client satisfaction.
Keep current with industry technologies, equipment, standards and best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal methods and standards.
Ensure compliance with EXP quality standards, applicable regulations and contractual requirements across all engineering deliverables.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Registered member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in engineering consulting, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food processing or industrial sectors.
Excellent knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Good understanding of regulated environments (GMP, ISPE, PIC/S or equivalents).
Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional client site visits.
Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills to effectively mobilize multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders.
