About the role
- Supply Chain Manager responsible for procurement, planning, and inventory control at Emerson’s Cumbernauld site. Guiding safe, reliable, cost-effective delivery in the Gas Analysis business.
Responsibilities
- Lead site supply chain operations across procurement, material planning, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse activities.
- Forecast material needs using historical demand, established plan-of-record (POR) targets, and the sales & operations planning (S&OP) process.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters within the MRP system.
- Own supplier management for a defined portfolio.
- Drive cost and value initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply chain and procurement professionals.
- Strengthen inventory management through practical controls and improvement projects.
- Ensure alignment across planning, procurement, logistics, production, and quality.
- Lead continuous improvement within the supply chain function.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
- People leadership experience, including coaching, performance support, and building inclusive, high-trust team practices.
- Working knowledge of material planning principles (forecasting, replenishment, lead times, safety stock, supplier capacity)
- Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to translate demand and supply signals into clear priorities and actions.
- Understanding of inventory control practices, warehouse operations, and logistics fundamentals.
- Effective communication skills, able to collaborate across Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and external suppliers.
- Experience using an MRP/ERP system to manage planning and purchasing.
