About the role
- Assistant Controller managing accounting functions and supporting the Controller at Morgan Advanced Materials. Overseeing month end closing and financial analysis in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting functions and directly supporting the Controller.
- Preparation of timely month end closing, providing an analysis and understanding of financial results, and review and prepare detailed reconciliations.
- Understanding the standard cost, documentation, and related systems is an essential responsibility.
- Analyzing standard vs. actual cost and reporting variances in detail and summary.
- Support inventory and production reporting systems and provide reasonable assurance of accurate inventory and valuation.
- Preparation of financial budgets, forecasts and providing meaningful analysis of actual vs. forecast and budget.
- Preparation of various analysis and reports utilizing ERP, Microsoft Excel, and other systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent analysis skills
- Individual must be a citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
