Responsibilities
You are responsible for the strategic and operational development of your book categories in European e‑commerce
You independently manage publishers and suppliers and actively develop existing partnerships
You analyze market, competition, assortment and performance, identify potential and derive concrete measures
You make data-driven decisions for assortment planning to create sustainable competitive advantages
You identify trends and growth opportunities early and develop new approaches to expand our book portfolio
You evaluate products and assortments from economic, market-oriented and customer-relevant perspectives
You work closely with Marketing, Customer Service, Fulfillment, Accounting and Goods Receipt to ensure strong execution across the entire process chain
Requirements
A successfully completed degree in a business-related field or a completed commercial apprenticeship with relevant further training
At least 2 years of professional experience in purchasing, category management or product management – ideally with a focus on books, publishing or a media-related environment
Solid e‑commerce experience and a good understanding of data-driven assortment management in online retail
Strong analytical thinking, pronounced numerical affinity and a good sense for markets, products and potential
A structured, independent and results-oriented way of working
Strong communication skills, initiative and quick comprehension
Initial experience with Amazon FBA or additional knowledge in the e‑commerce environment is a plus
Fluent German and English skills, written and spoken, at least at C1 level
