Quest Designer collaborating on quests for Fallout 76 at Double Eleven. Working to create memorable player experiences through effective gameplay and narrative design.
Responsibilities
Helping to express the story of the game through excellent exploration, gameplay and activities
Collaborate closely with the Lead Quest Designer and other leadership to write and implement quest content for the game
Brainstorm and collaborate with the Lead Quest Designer, project leads and quest team to concept and plan the themes for each update
Collaborate with other teams regarding quest implementation scope, quality, efficiency and workflow
Implement and oversee quests as part of content updates to the game
Work with production and the Lead Quest Designer to inform the quest schedule, ensuring your work can be delivered on time
Mentor junior team members through creating and iterating designs and implementing best practices
Collaborate with other teams to create a cohesive game experience
Promote, contribute and participate in our culture of inclusion and diversity
Requirements
Experience in Quest, Level, or Open-World repeatable content design
Strong writing, editing, and narrative development skills
A solid understanding of narrative systems, story structures, and player-driven storytelling
A passion for researching and adapting diverse IPs and franchises
Hands-on experience with at least one established game development toolset or engine
The ability to interpret and balance feedback from multiple, sometimes conflicting, perspectives to guide the team toward the best overall design decisions
Familiarity with implementation best practices and a willingness to work directly within a game engine
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Confident presentation and pitching abilities
Experience implementing narrative or quest content in a game is highly desirable
Experience working with the Creation Kit engine is highly desirable
