About the role
- Data Governance Engineer supporting data governance initiatives focused on metadata management at Opplane. Engaging with clients and internal teams in a hybrid work setup.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices
- Lead metadata management initiatives, including data catalogs, business glossaries, and data dictionaries
- Work directly with clients using Collibra, Alation, or other tools, supporting configuration, adoption, and best practices
- Support data lineage and data quality initiatives across modern data platforms
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business users, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related roles
- Hands-on experience with data governance platforms in a professional environment
- Strong understanding of Data Governance concepts such as Glossary, Data Quality, RDM, and Lineage
- Hands-on experience querying databases using SQL or similar technologies
- Client-facing experience or strong stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of modern data platforms and cloud environments.
