Development Engineer for shaping the Driver Experience domain for Daimler Truck's Instrument Cluster. Involved from ideation to release in a hybrid work environment based in Portland, OR.
Responsibilities
Support the global development of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster) for all relevant vehicle projects globally
Develop and document feature and technical concepts while focusing on Regulatory requirements (e.g. country certification)

Functional safety requirements
Technical limitations
Support alignment with global, internal and external partners and stakeholders (e.g. feature owners, implementation teams, supplier, projects)
Review and control issue inflow submitted by all global test instances (e.g. vehicle testing)
Support with pre-analysis of defects
Set and enforce software quality standards together with the software architects
Develop a holistic testing strategy for the component and align it with the development teams, HiL and vehicle testing teams
Support on-truck and test bench testing
Develop, build and maintain test benches and write test cases
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of commercial vehicles and their functionalities
Strong background in ECU development and testing incl. processes, methodologies, and tools
Proficient with tools such as Vector suite, Monaco, DiagnosticLink, Jira, Confluence, ecu.test
Expertise in project management
Experience with automotive development processes, preferably with Daimler Truck
Understanding of engineering processes and downstream impacts
Strong skills in communication and team coordination across global teams (considering different cultural backgrounds) especially with the US, Germany, and India
Analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented, reliable, pro-active and self-motivated
Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
