About the role
- Senior Full Stack Engineer building and scaling core software platforms for Custom Surgical. Focused on both web and desktop applications with hands-on engineering skills in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade web and desktop applications
- Build and evolve React-based frontends with a strong focus on usability and reliability
- Develop and consume APIs, handle network requests, and manage application state
- Implement and maintain Electron-based desktop functionality, including system and OS-level integrations
- Manage local data storage, caching, and database connections
- Work close to hardware-related features and data capture workflows
- Contribute to architectural and technical decisions across the software stack
- Ensure performance, stability, and scalability of applications in production
- Review code and mentor junior and mid-level developers
- Collaborate closely with backend, cloud, mobile, and hardware teams
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Full Stack or Software Engineer working on production applications
- Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
- Professional experience with React for complex web applications
- Experience building desktop applications using Electron or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of API design, consumption, and network communication
- Experience working with local databases, file systems, and offline data handling
- Familiarity with hardware-adjacent or system-level functionality
- Proven experience scaling and maintaining production systems
- Ability to contribute to and guide technical decision-making
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing other developers' work
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Based in Munich or willing to relocate (on-site work required)
