About the role
- Process Design Engineer developing process designs and technical solutions for the food & beverage sector. Collaborating with sales and internal engineering teams in project development.
Responsibilities
- Develop process flow diagrams and P&IDs using AutoCAD / Autodesk software
- Generate process descriptions and technical documentation
- Create specifications for process equipment including pumps, valves and heat exchangers
- Work with customers and internal teams to define user requirements
- Support technical proposals and quotation content
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with customers
- Support HAZOP / HACCP and design risk assessments
- Collaborate with mechanical design, automation and project teams
- Support commissioning activities where required
Requirements
- Background in Chemical or Process Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree level)
- Experience in process design and development of P&IDs
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (Plant 3D advantageous)
- Understanding of process equipment and systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
