Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering design activities on major projects in the United States.
Ability to lead projects in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, Texas, Colorado, and Virginia.
Design, model, and simulate mechanical systems for hyperscale and AI data centers, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, cooling towers, chilled water systems, and boilers.
Prepare engineering calculations and detailed mechanical drawings.
Design highly energy-efficient and sustainable systems.
Create technical documentation for project execution, including design criteria and specifications.
Ensure project requirements are met in terms of scope, cost, and schedule.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to coordinate BIM models and resolve conflicts.
Review shop drawings for compliance with engineering codes and safety standards.
Develop and maintain project scope documentation and revisions.
Utilize BIM tools for virtual construction of mechanical systems and coordination with other disciplines.
Manage and coordinate projects, including on-site supervision.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress.
Utilize laser scanning technology to document installation states.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
5 to 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Experience with data center projects or other large-scale industrial projects is a plus.
Proficiency in BIM software (Autodesk Revit), CAD modeling tools, and other relevant engineering software (Computational Fluid Dynamics software).
Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with mechanical codes and safety standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong project management abilities, including the coordination and supervision of on-site activities.
Must be licensed in the US with current requirements for Texas, Virginia, California, and Colorado.
Good project and client leadership skills.
Willingness to travel frequently to client sites.
Ability to work from home.
