About the role

Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day financial control framework, ensuring accurate and compliant financial record-keeping, whilst actively seeking opportunities to strengthen controls
- Oversee financial operations AP/AR, payment approval and cash flow management.
- Manage banking operations, payment flows and bank reconciliations.
- Communicate and collaborate with external accountants and payroll providers.
- Oversee contractor and employee payments across multiple locations
- Ensure compliance with Hungarian tax regulations, partnering with external advisers for timely and accurate tax filings
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management information and board/investor reporting.
- Support FP&A activities focused on key SaaS metrics, revenue streams and subscriptions.
- Drive process optimization, implementing scalable, automated solutions and strengthening internal controls
- Assisting in end-year closure and audit processes
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with proven experience in accounting or finance roles in Hungary.
- Experience in Software/SaaS is an advantage.
- Critical thinker who can use strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of Hungarian tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Ability to work independently, own projects and deliver high quality outputs.
- Fluent in English.
