About the role
- Finance & Accounting Manager at CMA CGM responsible for managing financial operations and ensuring compliance. Overseeing accounting activities and contributing to strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial and administrative management of the entity
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of accounting records and compliance with tax and social security obligations
- Coordinate with the external accounting firm to provide monthly documentation
- Prepare supplier payment runs
- Manage monthly banking relationships
- Handle key contracts and monitor insurance policies
- Develop the annual budget in collaboration with management and all departments
- Implement and maintain dashboards for costs, overheads, payroll and revenue
- Monitor actuals versus budget, analyze variances and alert management
- Review and validate VAT returns prepared by the accounting firm
- Maintain headcount tracking and update internal procedures
- Advise management on the financial impact of decisions
- Ensure compliance with expense approval rules
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and the quality of financial services
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business School or equivalent (DCG/DSCG is a plus)
- 5–10 years of experience in finance/accounting
- Strong knowledge of general and analytical accounting (balance sheet, P&L, receivables/payables cycles)
- Experience in budget preparation, variance analysis and dashboard creation
- Solid knowledge of VAT, corporate tax and standard taxation rules
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas); familiarity with Yooz and Cegid Loop is a plus
- Ability to design and streamline procedures (expenses, approvals, etc.)
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate figures on time
- Ability to prioritize and independently manage a wide scope of responsibilities
- Ability to explain financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Discretion, trustworthiness and respect for confidentiality
