About the role
- Senior Software Engineer developing APIs and systems for CloudZero’s application platform. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions in cloud cost management.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and core systems that power CloudZero’s application platform.
- Build scalable features that support customers with large, complex cloud cost datasets.
- Work on the core product surfaces customers use every day, including cost intelligence features, analytics, and identity/authentication systems.
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deeply understand customer problems and deliver high-impact solutions.
- Participate in product discovery, helping break down strategic objectives into clear, executable work.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that can evolve as the product and company scale.
- Help shape engineering processes and technical direction to enable fast iteration, ownership, and high-quality delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building APIs and complex backend systems in the cloud (AWS preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with authentication and authorization systems (RBAC, SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth).
- Experience working in early- or growth-stage B2B SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS).
- Ability to apply sound design patterns pragmatically when architecting systems and writing code.
- Comfort collaborating cross-functionally and translating feedback into polished, customer-facing solutions.
