About the role
- Data Engineering Manager overseeing software engineering and infrastructure development in legal AI at Clio. Collaborating with product and design to address business challenges and develop technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Product, Design, and other business stakeholders to understand the challenges our business faces, identify the most impactful opportunities, and craft a roadmap for the team
- Working with your team on designing technical solutions
- Actively contributing to the project by writing and shipping production-level code
- Giving clear feedback on code reviews, architectural documents, and more to support team members with making sound technical decisions for their projects
- Regular 1:1 meetings with your direct reports to make sure they are supported in their career growth and development goals
- Actively participating in hiring to grow the engineering teams at Clio
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in people leadership in software engineering, particularly with large scale SaaS products
- A history in hands-on software development and data engineering
- A diverse knowledge base that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems
- Strong opinions that are loosely held, and you foster that same attitude in others
- A habit of providing consistent, honest, and actionable feedback to your team and encouraging your team to reciprocate
- Experience creating roadmaps that guide your team, but you aren't bound to them - you easily adapt to a constantly changing world
- An interest in improving your craft by using AI
- Serious bonus points if you have: A philosophy on what makes for great software engineering teams
- Experience with Databricks and/or AWS
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform
