About the role
- Senior Analyst supporting operational finance for News Division at CBC/Radio-Canada. Managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the News Division, English Services
- Handle all financial aspects (cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting) for News Programming
- Prepare detailed analysis of business operations, including budget variances
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with management
- Prepare ad-hoc and monthly financial reports for review and decision making
- Participate in cross-functional departmental process improvement projects
- Interpret and apply labour agreements, CBC policies, and business practices
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Professional accounting designation such as CPA
- Minimum 3 years of production finance and/or accounting experience
- Proven success in analyzing business operations
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Superior investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement strategies for improvement
- Ability to set priorities and balance competing business needs within budgetary restrictions and reporting deadlines
- Business partnering approach
- Open and direct communication style, good listening skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced working in a diverse and inclusive environment
- Superior Excel skills and experience working with Cognos and Workday is an asset
- Fluency in French is a requirement.
