About the role
- Manager handling financial reporting valuations for government, ensuring accuracy and reliability in valuations and leading a team for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day work operations of the Financial Reporting Valuations team within the Government Valuations area.
- Provide expert financial reporting valuation advice to the Valuer-General, Deputy Valuer-General and government agencies on complex or sensitive matters.
- Ensure valuations meet legal and professional standards.
- Lead a team, oversee external valuation providers, and work closely with government and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure government property valuations are accurate, reliable and trusted, supporting sound financial reporting, informed decision-making and public confidence in government valuation processes.
Requirements
- Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) (mandatory).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and other relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing the provision of valuation advice by the Valuer-General (mandatory).
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government policy, processes and administration and experience providing authoritative advice which impacts compensation and government projects or requirements (highly desirable).
- Driver’s License (mandatory).
