Manager handling financial reporting valuations for government, ensuring accuracy and reliability in valuations and leading a team for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day work operations of the Financial Reporting Valuations team within the Government Valuations area.
Provide expert financial reporting valuation advice to the Valuer-General, Deputy Valuer-General and government agencies on complex or sensitive matters.
Ensure valuations meet legal and professional standards.
Lead a team, oversee external valuation providers, and work closely with government and industry stakeholders.
Ensure government property valuations are accurate, reliable and trusted, supporting sound financial reporting, informed decision-making and public confidence in government valuation processes.
Requirements
Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) (mandatory).
Comprehensive knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and other relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing the provision of valuation advice by the Valuer-General (mandatory).
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government policy, processes and administration and experience providing authoritative advice which impacts compensation and government projects or requirements (highly desirable).
Driver’s License (mandatory).
