Quality Assurance Leader driving QA processes for an initiative of the European Commission. Collaborating with teams to streamline customs processes and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with European Commission (EC) standards and best practices.
Establish and maintain quality control processes to detect and address defects and deviations throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Continuously assess and refine existing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement areas, implement corrective actions, and monitor their impact.
Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in IT systems and processes.
Develop and integrate risk mitigation strategies into project planning and execution.
Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to evaluate project success.
Generate regular reports for management, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with TAXUD policies, EC/industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address findings and implement corrective measures.
Design and deliver training programs to promote awareness of quality standards and best practices.
Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement across IT teams.
Evaluate and monitor the quality of deliverables from external service providers to ensure alignment with project expectations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Certifications such as Certified Quality Manager or Six Sigma are highly desirable.
Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive quality initiatives within project timelines.
Exceptional analytical skills to identify and resolve quality issues.
Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex problems.
Excellent communication skills to convey quality requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A collaborative mindset to work effectively with diverse teams.
Familiarity with IT standards and regulations such as ISO 9001, CMMI, and GDPR.
A proactive approach to staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
A meticulous eye for detail to uphold the highest standards of quality in IT deliverables.
Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide teams toward achieving quality goals.
Ability to manage shifting priorities, work under pressure, and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
