Responsibilities
Collaborating with Cal Voices’ Board of Directors
Supervising members of the agency’s Executive Leadership team
Implementing strategic plans for the agency’s development
Overseeing day-to-day operations
Grant writing and business development
Managing relationships with funders and stakeholders
Requirements
Personal lived experience of recovery from a mental illness and/or substance use disorder
Alignment with Cal Voices’ organizational values and positions on key policy issues
Credibility with behavioral health consumers and individuals from diverse/traditionally marginalized communities
A Juris Doctor or a master’s degree in nonprofit, public, or business administration; management; government; public policy; or similar field related to Cal Voices’ mission and operations
At least five years of professional work experience performing all or most of the duties of this position as the Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer, or senior manager of a nonprofit agency with at least 50 employees and annual budget of at least $4 million
Familiarity with the structure and functions of California’s Public Behavioral Health System, the Recovery Model, and Peer Support Services
A current and valid Class “C” California Driver License
Immediate access to reliable personal transportation throughout the workday
