About the role
- Sr SQL Database Engineer at Broadridge responsible for SQL queries, ETL workflows, and database migrations. Collaborate with teams to deliver data-driven solutions ensuring security and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows to support business operations
- Support database migrations and build efficient data models that ensure integrity, scalability, and performance
- Develop and maintain continuous integration pipelines using GitLab, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Automate configuration management and deployment tasks in Linux-based environments
- Automate testing for client configuration for delivery
- Leverage scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate routine and validation tasks across dev/test infrastructure
- Work closely with cross-functional team and stakeholders to deliver robust data-driven solutions
- Manually test in a cross-functional team, with a view to developing automated tests
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of build, release, and automation processes
- Troubleshoot complex system and database issues, ensuring security, performance, and compliance with organizational standards
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Database Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Configuration Specialist
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database development (SQL, PL/SQL)
- Test automation experience
- Proficiency with ETL tools, ideally Talend, and experience supporting data migration projects
- Proven hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX and automation using Bash/Python
- Practical experience with GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible
- Strong understanding of data modelling, normalization/de-normalization, and database security best practices
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring or guiding technical teams
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BE/B.Tech) or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science
- Knowledge of Golang/Go is a plus
- Knowledge of Drools or other business rules engines is a plus
