Senior Project Engineer delivering water infrastructure projects across California at BKF. Leading design efforts and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of water infrastructure projects, including stormwater and wastewater systems such as pipelines, pump stations, tanks, rehabilitation projects, planning studies, and hydrology/hydraulic analyses
Support project management activities, including scope development, schedules, budgets, coordination with internal teams, and technical deliverables
Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders, including support of permitting processes and regulatory approvals
Apply BKF standards and best practices to ensure quality, consistency, and innovation in project delivery
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers Collaborate across BKF service lines and disciplines to support integrated project delivery
Assist with proposal support and technical input for water resources and stormwater pursuits as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred (EIT required)
6+ years of experience in water resources and civil infrastructure engineering, with an emphasis on stormwater and/or wastewater projects
Strong technical background in stormwater and wastewater infrastructure design, including pipelines, pump stations, pipe rehabilitation, and hydrology/hydraulic modeling
Experience supporting or leading planning studies, master plans, and infrastructure projects from concept through design and construction support
Familiarity with California permitting processes, agency coordination, and technical documentation
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively coordinate with clients and project teams
Interest in continued technical growth and increased project leadership responsibility
Benefits
The typical base salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $149,000.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly.
